Ph.D. Candidate

This past Thursday was a monumental one in Joe's educational pursuit. As required by the Ph.D. program, Joe sat his board review on Thursday--and happily passed with ease. The board review involved Joe presenting his dissertation proposal to a committee of 5 professors who then spent some time asking him questions and giving him feedback. The outcome seemed very positive and was most definitely the result of a lot of hard work Joe has put in over the past year. Passing this hurdle is a big deal as it means Joe is officially a Ph.D. candidate rather than a post-graduate student-he can now (officially) focus on the researching and writing of the actual dissertation. Obviously, I am very, very proud of him--he has worked really hard and very diligently and I am super impressed! Way to go, babe!
